YOUTH – LEARNING HOW TO SING, Dance and perform
about Singing and Dancing to Broadway voice and performance club
CPP’s Singing and Dancing to Broadway Performance Club is an ongoing club that runs throughout the year. Participants learn and practice skills related to improving their ability to sing and perform Broadway songs through activities designed to teach while having fun as a group.
The next Session Starts October 22 with song and dance selections from Polar Express
Showcase is December 17 and other performances will be scheduled.
Voice and Dance Club students will explore the following
- Warm up techniques,
- Voice control,
- Breathing,
- Various ways to “learn” songs,
- Performance singing,
- Proper singing techniques,
- Proper singing word annunciations
- Basic score terminology and reading,
- Finding your own natural vocal range
- And identifying the best songs for it,
- Expanding your vocal range,
- Making songs your own,
- Understanding harmonies,
- Timing,
- Choreography
- and much more.
Eligible participants will have the opportunity to take part in a Showcase Performance Tuesday December 17 that highlights the material each has worked on in the preceding period. In addition to the public Showcase Performance, participants will have the option to perform through other CPP/YTP programs!
AGE RANGE(S): 6* through 18 with division into separate groups based upon age/experience and according to number of participants. *Young participants will be accepted subject to assessment of readiness by instructors.
MIN DESIRED PARTICIPANTS: 10
INSTRUCTOR(S): Susan Piron and Ayana Wilson
NUMBER OF WEEKS: Each Session is 8 weeks
HOURS PER WEEK: 1.5 for Singing and 1.5 for Dancing
DAY SCHEDULED: Every Tuesday
TIME SCHEDULED: 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Singing and 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 for Dance
OPPORTUNITY COST: Included in All Access Club Pass *($60.00 a month – includes all programs for one price)
LOCATION: Youtheatre Players in The Shops @ Palm Desert (formerly Westfield Palm Desert Mall) Lower Level by Jc Penney

Family and friends are encouraged to attend the showcase and other performances
PARTICIPATION FEE: *Our fee structure for this and all CLUBS is $60.00 per month on Autopay. One $60 membership gets the participant access to all of YTP’s CLUBS (Voice, Dance, Improve, Theatre, and Acting). (a nominal surcharge is added to cover our fees incurred for processing). Absences will not warrant a reduction in fee
